I created this site, which is dedicated to all of my students, who I work with in to share and distribute their work. The site features student work, some of my poetry, rhymes and also well known authors for inspiration.

The PattyDukes Show

The PattyDukes Show is a hip-hop culture and lifestyle web-based tv show. Combining popular urban culture like fashion, music, television, films with social issues and themes like capitalism, freedom, resistance, struggle and survival. Using Hip-Hop as a tool for social change. Young people see through the lens of Hip-Hop, creating a show that would engage them with their interest but also educate them about issues affecting them in their own communities would empower them to take a stand and pick up a mic.

The PattyDukes Show will feature hip-hop artists, musicians, educators, students, community leaders, and friends. Creating a balance within the mainstream Hip-Hop culture, having a woman of color direct and host her own tv show but also talking about issues and topics that hardly ever get any air or radio play.

Below is the first promo-episode/trailer, it's about 12 minutes.
My vision for the series would be 12, 30 minute shows.

THE PATTYDUKES SHOW
In this episode I sit down an interview an up and coming Latino Hip-Hop entrepreneur, Lou Colon. At the age of 25, Lou is the Publisher of his own magazine called Kicksclusive Magazine and the owner of his own female sneaker boutique in Nolita (Manhattan) called Laces.
It's important for young people to see and hear success stories of people that come from exactly where they come from, struggle.
